The world we live in is based on revolutions. Everything developed – all the ideas scientists and experts conceptualize eventually lead to one big moment such as the industrial revolution, which took place over 200-years ago.
If I had to tell you 10-years ago, that in 15-years there would be cars capable of driving themselves, and virtual reality technology – I would have been called a radical. someone who should not be approached. However, here we are in the light of artificial intelligence and self-driving cars.
The Development Of Artificial Intelligence
For those who are not familiar with what artificial intelligence is. Well, think of it as part of the world of “Internet Of Things”. Somewhat a mechanism where machines can communicate by themselves, and get your work done while you lounge about and enjoy life.
Imagine the world where you only need to do something once, and from then on a machine is capable of learning, and producing the same results without your interference. The impact that this alone could have in factories and places of production would be monumental.
Large technological giants such as Google, Apple, and a few others have constantly been in the headlines, for new projects involving various artificial intelligence projects. Some aimed at improving machine-learning. Allegedly, Google has gone so far as to develop a machine capable of learning, and producing its own poetry!
However, as amazing as such an era may seem as with all the revolutions of ages past, there are still a few obstacles which companies will need to overcome. The predictions for artificial intelligence as an industry already have a worth of over $70 billion.
Therefore, there will be an army of corporations, all trying to take a slice of this juicy pie, and inevitably, some will be more successful than others. However, one thing is for sure -there will be great leaps of innovations, as companies strive to remain relevant.
The Risks And Doubts Over Artificial Intelligence
Ever watched I-Robot, that film featuring Will Smith, where one faulty robot corrupts its peers, and from there all hell breaks loose. Well, this may not just be sci-fi, with the most recent breakthroughs in Artificial Intelligence, there are risks.
These are just the more, absurd dangers that artificial intelligence could pose. A major concern for many comes in the form of easy-manual tasks. After all, our world already suffers a tragic rate of unemployment – artificial intelligence can only make this worse.
However, there have been talks of regulations, which involve AI working alongside employees for a more efficient workplace, meaning even if a machine had to replace one employee – another would be hired to supervise said machine.
As AI poses a new age for us humans, we simply require ensuring that we are ready to take on the leaps, challenges, and obstacles, which this coming era may pose. However, AI could revolutionize the way in which our world is capable of operating.
